Mountain Lifeworks was founded by
local parents and professionals to establish a balanced approach
using proven expertise, data and real life experience. Our
team includes economists and entrepreneurs as well as healthcare
providers, educators and other expertise. Understanding mental
health conditions like depression are not an
economic challenge like poverty we recognize there is no
one-size-fits-all solution. At the same time there is no single
cause or solution to the poverty-depression cycle.
By combining data driven solutions with common sense collaboration
we seek to help our most vulnerable and at-risk neighbors, while supporting the caregivers, professionals and
organizations trying to help them at the same time.
As local parents and professionals we understand the high cost-of-living combined with other contributing factors are more likely to trigger or exacerbate mental health conditions like depression in our mountain and rural communities. The federal government uses proven mentoring, entrepreneurship and small business programs to help veterans build self-esteem and meaningful careers. These efforts can lead to difference making healthcare, standards of living and more positive outcomes. Federal, State and local governments all play key roles in services, tourism, special events, recreation and other opportunities, including access to funding, facilities and more. By adapting proven models we combat employment and economic disparities that drive negative outcomes, while helping reduce demands on government systems and charity resources.
We build an alliance of willing and compassionate public, private and non-profit entities to establish and advance inclusive solutions, while reducing burdens on charity resources and government programs. By advocating for meaningful inclusion and opportunities we help increase income, independence and self-esteem, while working to break the poverty-depression cycle. Talent and abilities are distributed equitably, but opportunities and inclusion are not. We help corporations, charities and government maximize mental health and economic benefit from early detection and intervention to reduce long-term costs.
Government and corporations
play key roles setting standards and examples when it comes to
equal opportunities for people of all ages, races, genders
and abilities. Can you tell the race,
gender or disability of our website designer? How about the social
media manager? Maybe the graphic designer? What about the
writer, the programmer, the accountant and so on? Can you tell if
they work from home or in a
MOUNTAIN LIFEWORKS helps traditional non-profits and government agencies by focusing on the real life day-to-day challenges they often over-look. The CDC reports over 200 diagnosable mental illnesses. By disrupting the employment and economic factors contributing to the poverty-depression cycle fueling suicide rates we help existing mental health systems and solutions identify and treat those with diagnosable mental illness. As daignostics increase so will the demand for funding, life long services and solutions. It's no wonder everyone from doctors to economists advocate for more effective early detection, intervention, special education and career skill development programs to maximize positive outcomes and reduce life-long care costs.
The MOUNTAIN LIFEWORKS approach is to complement existing mental health efforts and government systems with philanthropic strategies and innovative economic solutions. Mountain Lifeworks augments existing non-profit assistance and government programs if possible, and uses data to identify needs, measure results and establish new options as needed. This approach increases accessibility to qualified options and expertise while improving outcomes and accountability. With proven partners and solutions we work to disrupt the poverty-depression cycle by rebuilding dignity and independence, while combating the factors that trigger or exacerbate mental health conditions and fuel suicide rates.
